Your very own Lego candy recipe

Your very own Lego candy recipe

Everywhere we turn these days, Lego is there. For anyone with kids this is the ultimate toy. Not only does it keep kids away from the TV, it inspires them to build and to be creative. It’s just so good you could eat it – in fact, you can.

Want to be the coolest mum in the gang? Want to impress your darlings and their friends and show how on trend you are when it comes to treats? Then you need to make some of these truly lifelike Lego candies. It’s possible to make Lego sweets that are not only edible, but stackable and they look just like the real thing.

The secret to making realistic looking Lego candies comes not from a mummy armed with the right kitchen tools, and years of baking experience, but from a guy called Grant Thompson. This guy has created a video showing how to make your own edible, stackable lego gummies. It took him no less than four years of experimentation (now that’s dedication), but he has managed to perfect a recipe to create crystal clear, firm, tasty candies. He even goes on record as saying that they taste better than gummy bears. What you need to use is the following:

1/2 cup of very cold water
1/4 cup of corn syrup
2 packets of unflavored gelatin
1 pack of Jelly – whichever colour you need.

Now you also need silicon molds for the real shapes of Lego bricks and Lego guys – yes it needs dedication. He’s gone online to show how you can create incredibly detailed gummy candies that are actually stackable. Simply mix all the ingredients, put them in the molds and let the things set. It’s a lot of work, but if you have the time, and truly dedicated Lego fans, it will be worth it.

If you want to wow them all at the next kiddies party, get on Youtube and see how this works.
